Hustus "Frank" Falana, Jr., 92. of Coventry and a stalwart of the CT Republican Party, beloved husband of the late Roberta Manning Falana, died Sunday, May 26, 2013, at his home, surrounded by his family. Born in Savannah, GA, on Isle of Hope, Frank maintained a lifelong love of everything Savannah and visited often. He had lived in his adopted home of Coventry since the 1970's. Frank proudly served in the U.S. Navy during WW II involved in the development of drones and worked on the Manhattan Project. He began his career in communications with the telephone company as a lineman in Savannah, GA and transferred to SNET before finally retiring as an engineer with ATT. Frank, as he was fondly known, loved politics and especially his involvement with the Coventry Republican Party, the Coventry Town Committee, and the #35 District of the Republican State Central Committee. He is survived by his daughter, Veronica Falana and son-in-law Steven Milo of Trumbull, his son James D. Falana of Coventry; a step son Jay Howard and his wife Marlena McCollum of Danielson, grandchildren Jay Sirois, Michael Falana, Thomas Falana and step grandson J. Brandon McCollum and two great grandchildren Madison Falana and Alex Labonte. Besides his wife, he was predeceased by his son, Hustus "Frank" Falana III and a sister, Frances Rodewolt.
Graveside Service will be Monday, June 3, 2013 11:30 AM at Bonaventure Cemetery, Savannah, GA. Donations may be made to the donor's chapter of the American Red Cross. For condolences please visit www.carmonfunerahome.com
